Born in Tennessee in 1915, Emmett was found by Rosalie Hale at the age of 20, half dead after being mauled by a bear. Taking pity on him because he reminded her so much of a child she once desired to have while she was still human, Rose saved him by asking her adoptive father to turn him into a vampire.

Burly, and incredibly strong in his vampiric body, Emmett is always up for a laugh, usually at the expense of someone else. Someone else is usually his adoptive brother, Edward.
